3 Steps to Branding Like a Rock Star: Even if You're Not a Musician

One of my favorite acronyms is ABC ― “Always Be Creating.”

Creativity is a muscle that must be exercised.

At the same time, we would be starving

artists on creativity alone.

Lately, "branding" has been on my mind.

I've come to the realization that ABC can also mean,

“A Brand Compensates.”

Here's the thing...

You may have the best ideas, products or services.

If you don't have a connection with your target customer,

“sales conversions” will be tough.

You may be thinking ― “ I’ll build it and they will come.”

Right! Like creating a fancy logo, business cards and a website?

Remember this ― your logo isn't a brand.

On the other hand…

I watched a video on music branding and I think it’s universal to business as well.

Adam Ivy shared 3 Steps To Build Your Music Brand.

  1. Understand Who You Are ― provides clarity and focus for you to communicate with clarity. Why should they care?

  2. Understand Who You Are to Others ― we are in control of our reputation and narrative. Be cohesive across all platforms (consistency). Deliver value and build trust.

  3. Understand Who You Are Talking to ― know your target audience. Niche down and expand as you grow.

In summary:

In the book Purple Cow, Seth Godin said - "You're either remarkable or invisible."

The choice is yours.
