A Yes Wasn't Good Enough : One Stage That Changed It All
I don't stop for much.
Yesterday I was deep in dev mode.
Software, projects, the usual.
But this video title got me.
'This isn't an audition. It's a full-blown concert.'
I had to watch.
Liv Warfield walked onto the America's Got Talent stage.
She told her story.
Years in the music industry. Hard roads. Changed landscapes. Frustration. Disappointment.
But she never quit.
She said it herself:
"I continue to push because I feel like I have a story. I haven't quit. And I won't."
Then she opened her mouth and sang.
The crowd lost it.
Simon Cowell sat back in his chair. Speechless.
Then he said:
"All these years of frustration and you've come on here and I'm sorry, I can't give you a yes."
The crowd gasped.
I almost shed a tear too.
Then he hit the golden buzzer.
Confetti. Screaming. A full standing ovation.
Simon looked at her and said:
"You deserve that. That is the very least I could do."
Here's the thing...
She thought she was getting a yes.
She got something far greater.
That's how the journey works sometimes.
You grind. You push. You show up even when the path is unclear.
Even when the venue is empty.
Even when nobody's watching.
I know that feeling all too well.
I was playing music on small stages in Virginia.
Then festivals and larger venues in New York.
I went from leading a small manufacturing team to managing over 70 people at GE.
Then launched my own engineering consulting business.
None of it happened overnight.
It all started with a dream, a vision, and a belief.
And a decision to keep showing up.
And then one day you step into your moment.
And the result is greater than anything you imagined.

It's only the beginning of what's to come!
