Finish Your Race: A Journey of Hope, Determination and Faith
A young man graduates high school.
Fueled by dreams of becoming an engineer, he heads off to college five and a half hours away from home.
Early on he's enjoying the new scene by meeting new friends and experiencing freedom as a young adult.
One day he says to a friend, "this isn't much different than High School."
Boy was he wrong!
As he delves into engineering courses, he soon realizes the steep climb.
The honeymoon was over.
Determined to succeed, he calls home for encouragement.
His dad always had a good word of advice.
Dad reminds him that he's already in a race and to focus on the finish line.
To make it more clear, his Dad related it to swimming across a large river.
"Son, you're out there, just keep going to reach the other side ― you can’t turn back now.”
Here's the thing...
That young man was me.
I miss my Dad but his voice is with me every day.
As 2024 draws to a close, I want you to remember to finish the race.
At the end of 2023, you had goals, dreams and aspirations? Right?
Here's the good news.
You still have time!
Ecclesiastes 9:11 states that "the race is not given to the swift nor the strong but he who endures."
Finish Strong!
