Focus, Faith, and Follow Through
What Les Brown Taught Me About Mental Peace

Focus, Faith, and Follow Through: What Les Brown Taught Me About Mental Peace
I had a conversation with a friend that ended in disbelief.
I was sharing my concerns on how immigrants were being rounded up by masked agents.
His response? "Where's that happening?"
Luckily we were on the phone and he couldn't see the look on my face.
But here's the thing...
There's no way one can consume every news story and I wouldn't recommend it.
But, I do my best to stay informed.
And it gives me an opportunity to analyze, contextualize and materialize.
As Albert Einstein would say, "Information is not knowledge".
To be transparent...
Staying aware has become a burden. It's heavy and some days it feels like too much to carry.
Can you relate?
How do you balance staying informed with protecting your mental peace?
I came across Les Brown speaking about focus, faith, and follow through.
He spoke the truth: "You have to protect your mental peace because crazy is becoming the new normal."
Les Brown also said, "A person with their health has thousands of dreams. But a person without their health? They only have one dream — to get better."
Like many others, I used to say that life is too short.
But Les said, "No, it isn't. People take so long to become enlightened to start living. There's a difference between surviving and living."
Let that sink in…
So what’s the Focus, Faith, and Follow Through formula?
Focus: "The main thing is to keep the main thing the main thing."
Faith: Do what you can do. God will do what you can't do.
Follow Through: Pursue the next best version of yourself like your life depends on it.
Mark Twain said, the two most important days in your life are the day you are born and the day you find out why.
The Challenge:
This week, protect your mental peace but don't shut out the world.
You're one decision away from a breakthrough.
One moment of clarity away from your purpose.
Focus on what matters.
Have faith in the process.
Follow through on your commitments and level up.
The main thing? Keep the main thing the main thing.
Cheers!
