From Reunion to Resilience: The "Keep Moving" Imperative
I had a wonderful weekend spending time with family.
You could call it a mini-family reunion.
Laughter, music, and the aroma of seafood filled the air.
Something became clear to me...
Reconnecting was easy, but I noticed how my older relatives had slowed a bit.
I'm not a "spring chicken" either, but there were several health-related conversations.
At the same time, I noticed the little kids running and jumping with infinite energy.
The scene sparked deeper thought...
The little ones reminded me of myself when I used to attend family gatherings.
But also, they reminded me of what it was like climbing the corporate ladder or trying to grow a business.
The question becomes: how do we balance aging with the relentless pace of progress?
One of my uncles said it best: "You've got to keep moving."
It might seem like he was only talking about physical activity.
But, it was a deeper meaning about staying engaged, curious, and positive.
Here’s the thing..
Zig Ziglar said he would often ask his audiences to identify the qualities of success.
He said they would generally come up with 25 items.
They were then asked: which items are attitudes vs. skills?
Twenty out of twenty-five were "attitudes."
I'll do the math for you...
80% of Success is Attitude.
