The Power of "Just Try"

From Zero to Creatr: The Power of "Just Try"
Confidence is a muscle you have to exercise.
Like anything, if you do what’s hard, life will be easy. But if you do what’s easy,
life will be hard (Les Brown).
As a software developer, I've been building a groundbreaking product.
Our new audio plugin builder (Creatr) is pushing the boundaries of “no code” music software creation.
Most people have creative ideas but the critical details often hinder success.
In corporate I was often told, “that can’t be done.”
Behind my grin was a quiet confidence ― I’ll show you.
I’ll admit that my self-confidence didn't happen overnight.
Reflecting back, I think it came from those times watching my Dad “problem solve”.
It often started with a simple but powerful word ― "Try".
Those were the days.
I remember he and I working on Mom's car.
It was a “rack and pinion” steering issue where it would sometimes lock up. (not good)
Facing a major issue like this, Dad contemplated putting the car in the shop or fixing it himself.
Several bystanders were like, “oh you have remove the engine” or '“oh you have to do this or that” and “oh that’s a big job”.
Ignoring the noise, Dad decided he would fix it and of course I would help.
I was about 13 years old at the time.
Long story short, we methodically replaced the steering system.
We shared a moment of accomplishment knowing we proved the naysayers wrong once again.
And by the way, Dad didn’t mind saving a dollar.
But here’s the thing…
When I am stuck while building my business or coding new software, I’ll flex that muscle of confidence.
When facing a difficult task, act as though it is impossible to fail. If you are going after Moby Dick, take along the tartar sauce ― H. Jackson Brown Jr.
My challenge for you…
Keep elevating your mind, take on new challenges and develop the confidence to press through toward your success.
Cheers!
