Mother's Day and the Flickering Flame: A Message of Remembrance and Growth

Have you ever been discouraged or stuck on your success journey?

It's easy to get bogged down and lose sight of your progress, especially when you face adversity.

Or you're visiting family for Mother's Day weekend and need to provide life updates.

It starts off with: "how's life?"; "what are you working on these days?"; "are you still doing xyz?"

You catch my drift?

For me, it's a great time to catch up with friends and family.

We reflect and reminisce but at the same time, I am reminded of the work waiting on me when I return home.

But something happened today that I want to share.

Again, we had a great weekend enjoying seafood meals and sharing love.

And today I went to church with mom.

There was a new pastor and I did notice a few changes.

Here's the thing...

No matter the messenger, I always find a way to glean a new idea or thought.

His message on “A Mother's Faith” did not disappoint.

Often times, we're told that we can't move forward if we're always looking in the rearview mirror.

Ever heard that?

His approach was contrary...

The pastor said "look back only to move forward, as there is power in remembrance."

He also said that, "Our faith is flickering but must be fanned in order to grow."

Even though we get stuck from time to time, that's the not the end of the story.

If you reflect on the times you were stuck before, how did it affect your faith?

I trust that it grew.

Remember this simple message: Fan the flickering flame of remembrance.

Willie Jolley, once said "A Setback Is a Setup for a Comeback".

Cheers!

PROMPT: A highly detailed, 3D semi-realistic close-up image of a vibrant red rose emerging through cracked, bone-dry earth. The rose’s petals are richly colored, velvety, and fully open, contrasting sharply with the parched, textured soil that is visibly fissured and aged. A few delicate green leaves accompany the flower, crisp and healthy, adding a touch of natural vitality. In the background, subtle hints of the cracked ground extend to a blurred horizon, keeping the focus solely on the rose. The lighting remains warm and golden, as if during the late afternoon, accentuating the intricate textures of both the flower and the dried earth. A gentle hand—hinted at in soft focus—approaches the rose, conveying reverence and tender connection without distracting from the sharp details of the bloom. The overall mood is one of quiet awe, resilience, and the extraordinary emergence of life from desolation.
