Stop Chasing Algorithms: Build Products That Generate Passive Income
I have confession.
Last year, I made a mistake that cost me real growth.
And if you're not careful, you might be making the same one right now.
Here's what happened...
I got obsessed with building one complex application.
And my YouTube channels? They suffered!
And these weren't just any channels.
They were growing because I posted regularly and helped people solve problems.
But I lost focus.
I abandoned what was working to chase another golden opportunity.
The Wake-Up Call
Through my day-to-day work, I still found opportunities to develop smaller utilities.
Chrome extensions. Python scripts. Little tools that solved specific problems.
Here's the truth...
I set an aggressive deadline.
The project took longer than expected.
It drained more energy than I planned.
And somewhere along the way, I stopped nurturing what was already working.
The Platform Trap
Most people see social media marketing one way:
Monetize the platform. Ad revenue. Brand deals. Sponsorships.
Yes, you can do that.
But that shouldn't be your only strategy.
Why?
The algorithm changes constantly.
And in 2025? Many influencers noticed their reach dropping dramatically.
They were at the mercy of the platform.
The good news?
My content solves problems people can't easily solve elsewhere.
And it's evergreen — it stays relevant no matter what the algorithm does.
True story...
I posted a 24-second video about my Discord scraper nine months ago.
No promotion. Just a simple product demo.
I made 4 sales before the video had 500 views.
Writing Chrome extensions? That's kind of a superpower of mine.
So, I wrote a Discord scraper that captures posts based on groups you're in.
When you have data, you can make better decisions faster.
Without my tool, it's a very time-consuming manual process.
So, that short video connected people who were searching for a solution.
Does that make sense?
Your Expertise Is a Product
If you're still reading, I implore you to do this...
Learn how to create your own products and package them.
Don't code? Share templates. How-to guides. E-books.
Anything your expertise can save someone else time and frustration.
The truth is...
When you own the product, you own the outcome.
The algorithm can't take that away from you.
Doubling Down in 2026
So yes, 2026 is about doubling down.
I have many tools I've already written.
While I'm building my mobile apps, I can still produce videos of existing products.
Show people how to leverage them.
Help them solve problems.
Catch my drift?
The Challenge: Return to What Works
When you quit, you lose momentum.
And it takes much more effort and courage to restart than to keep going.
Let me ask you this...
What are those things you did in your business or career that drove sales or success?
Are you still doing them?
This week, answer these questions:
What activity drove real results that I've stopped doing?
What products, tools, or knowledge do I already have that could help others?
What's one small action I can take this week to double down on what works?
Then commit to one action:
Start creating again — even if it's just one video, one post, one product.
Package your expertise into something people can use.
Don't abandon momentum for the next shiny object.
Please learn from my mistake.
And if you haven't subscribed to my channels, I would love to have you:
Keep pressing forward.
Cheers!

So get ahead before everyone else catches on (2026 Trends)
In this video Erin discusses nine key social media marketing trends for 2026. These include the shift away from traditional influencing towards more authentic storytelling, creators becoming founders of scalable businesses, the rise of live shopping, and the continuous growth of Substack for audience ownership and deeper connections.
Other trends highlight the importance of making your audience a co-founder in brand development, the return to real community offline through in-person events, a move towards messier, more nostalgic aesthetics, and a thematic lean into slow living and sustainability. Finally, the video predicts the evolution of signature series into cinematic, vertical TV shows on social media platforms, emphasizing character development and long-form storytelling.
