The Art of Waiting: Cultivating Hope in the Midst of Uncertainty
Today I attended my old church in Virginia.
I had a chance to catch up with some old friends and family.
Rev. Adams delivered an inspirational message on the promise of hope.
Most people would agree that hope requires waiting and patience.
But I like how she put it, "hope requires actively waiting".
What does that mean?
How often do we get impatient waiting for our breakthrough?
You know, forcing opportunities, relationships or even purchases?
Her point was simple.
While you're waiting, actively work on “You”.
Focus on ways to improve mentally, physically and spiritually.
But there was another thing she said that caught my attention.
I’ll paraphrase: Don't allow position of power and wealth bankrupt your integrity.
In laymen's terms, when your breakthrough comes, don’t forget where you came from.
So, as we navigate this season of gratitude and giving, let's remember to use our
blessings to uplift others and stay true to ourselves.
