The Finish Line: Perseverance in the Face of Adversity
Ever been so close to the finish line that you could almost taste it?
For me, it was countless hours spent building a software app, only to face another unexpected challenge.
When will it end?
Technical glitches, self-doubt, and the urge to quit can be overwhelming.
But then you remember your “WHY”.
If the “WHY” is big enough, the “how” doesn’t matter.
And besides, quitting will rob you of your dreams and confidence.
Remember this ― you're not alone.
Jim Rohn often said, "there are two pains in this world. The pain of discipline and the pain of regret."
We get to decide.
Some days seemed impossible.
But it forced me to look back to see how far I've come.
My project was over 1,000 lines of code!
That's all I needed to keep going.
Have you ever eaten an elephant?
Me neither.
But I imagine it would take “one bite at a time”?
It can be debilitating trying to process every single detail.
Would you agree?
Get this…
Friday I was in bed having that morning pep talk.
You know the pep talk? "time to get up, today's going to be a great day etc."
Before fear or doubt crept in, I made up my mind.
"You're going to finish today by noon and submit your app for approval."
I jumped out of bed (without hesitation).
And later, I was working through my final punch-list.
Here's the thing...
Many people talk about dreams and aspirations but do not commit to seeing things through.
Put it this way…
“Nothing will work unless you do." ― Maya Angelou
I'm looking forward to the approval, but I'm not letting it slow me down.
I'm already working on my next project.
It's looking good and we'll discuss that later.
Challenge for You:
Let's chase our dreams and inspire others.
The journey may be tough, but the rewards are worth it.
