When Talent Isn't Enough: A 47th Birthday Reflection
Today I celebrated my 47th birthday with friends from our local boxing gym.
Great food, even better company.
We spent the brunch reflecting on our fitness journey and what it takes to stay in shape.
Well, not the entire conversation.
But here's the thing...
Earlier this week, I experienced something that completely humbled me.
I decided to hit the driving range with a friend.
Keep in mind, I've moved several times over the last 15 years, and my golf clubs have been collecting dust.
I was an avid golfer beforehand but priorities had changed.
So there I was, standing over the golf ball, setting up my shot.
Getting into my swing. Preparing to launch...
Only to watch the ball hover off to the right. Again. And again.
I could see exactly what I wanted to do.
Visually, I knew the mechanics.
But the rest of my body?
It felt like the very first time I started trying to hit a golf ball.
All that muscle memory? Gone.
It was an eerie feeling.
Imagine a writer staring at a blank page with nothing to say?
Exactly...
This humbling experience reminded me of my own words.
You have to be consistent in whatever you do.
Especially if you've done something at a high level and expect to continue.
The truth is...
Skills deteriorate without practice.
Dreams fade without action.
What you don't use, you lose.
As I reflect on turning 47, I'm reminded that every day is a gift.
The song "You've Been So Faithful" by Eddie James comes to mind.
The lyrics say:
"As I look back over my life, I can see how Your love has guided me. Even though I've done wrong, You never left me alone. But You forgave me and You kept on blessing me..."
"This I recall to my mind, therefore I have hope. It's because of Your mercy that we are not consumed. Because Thy compassions fail not, they are new every morning. Great is Thy faithfulness."
Can you relate?
Even when we fall short, even when our skills fade, even when we feel like beginners again — there's God's mercy.
There's another chance.
And God never fails!
The Challenge: Climb Your Mountain
This week, I want you to examine what you've been neglecting.
What skills have you let slide?
What dreams have you put on the back burner?
Don't forget the things that made you who you are.
The talents that define you. The experiences that shaped you.
Maintain and manage those things, and life will find you in a better place.
Jim Rohn once said: "When the end comes, let it find you conquering a new mountain, not sliding down an old one."
What mountain are you climbing?
Cheers!.

💡 TP’s Marketing Lesson
The Product/Service Launch Formula
The Product Launch Formula, also known as the Sideways Sales Letter, is a marketing strategy that uses a structured sequence of free, high-value content (Pre-Launch Content) to build buzz and authority before presenting the offer (Open Cart).
The three main components are:
Sequences: The launch is split into a Pre-Launch Sequence (7-10 days) and an Open Cart Sequence (4-7 days).
The Pre-Launch content is typically delivered in three parts (video/live stream), each addressing a part of the customer's journey:
Opportunity: Shows the potential for the customer's life to change.
Transformation: Provides case studies or examples to show what the change looks like.
Ownership: Helps the viewer start to embody the change for themselves.
Stories: Used throughout the content to connect with the audience.
Triggers: Mental triggers are used to influence decision-making, including:
Authority: Established by giving real, valuable teaching in the pre-launch content.
Reciprocity: Built by offering significant value for free.
Social Proof: Created through comments, community, and seeing what others are doing.
Scarcity: Used in the Open Cart phase by having a definitive closing date or consequence (e.g., bonuses disappear, price goes up). This drives the typical sales spike on the last day.
The content strategy uses the Problem-Solution Path (P-S Path) instead of the old Problem-Agitate-Solve model. In the P-S Path, you define a problem and give the solution, but the solution inherently contains the seeds of the next problem, leading the prospect naturally through the sequence and to the final sale.
