Why 88% Fail

And How You Won't Be One of Them

“Fix your thoughts on what is true, and honorable, and right, and pure, and lovely, and admirable. Think about things that are excellent and worthy of praise.”

― Philippians 4:8

Why 88% Fail (And How You Won't Be One of Them)

Happy New Year, friends!

I hope all your dreams and goals come to fruition in this new year.

But I want to tell you something important before you dive into your resolutions...

Every year, people create lists of New Year's resolutions.

The sad truth?

88% fail in the first two weeks.

Can you imagine that?

88% of people give up before January even ends.

Here's the thing...

I don't want to focus on why people fail.

I want to show you how you can avoid becoming another statistic.

It Starts With Your Thoughts

Change begins with thoughts and decisions.

But changing your thoughts requires intention.

It requires discipline, practice, and persistence.

The Bible says it clearly:

"Fix your thoughts on what is true, and honorable, and right, and pure, and lovely, and admirable. Think about things that are excellent and worthy of praise." (Philippians 4:8)

Let that sink in.

Les Brown often said: "Program your mind or it will be programmed."

The truth is...

If you don't believe me, just look at the current news cycle.

Misinformation, disinformation... you name it.

Your First Goal: Renew Your Mind

Think about it for a second...

Imagine staying up all night, then trying to perform at a high level with only 3-4 hours of sleep.

Not good, right?

Imagine dealing with turmoil and struggle.

But you're feeding your mind garbage content and surrounding yourself with negative people.

Catch my drift?

Here's what happens when you renew your mind:

Your emotions change.

Then your actions change.

Then your habits change.

Then your character changes.

Then your destiny begins to change.

Does that make sense?

Positive thoughts transcend circumstances.

Your thoughts are the seeds of your future.

The Cascade Effect

Tell me this...

What if the problem isn't your goals?

What if the problem is the foundation you're building them on?

You can't build a strong year on a weak mind.

You can't create lasting change without renewing how you think.

It works both ways:

Negative thoughts → negative emotions → poor actions → poor habits → poor destiny.

Positive thoughts → positive emotions → positive actions → positive habits → positive destiny.

The good news is — you have a choice.

You may be wondering what’s the next step?

I can't tell you exactly what to do.

But I can share what's working for me:

Each day, I listen to a morning devotion (the Abundant Life Devotional).

I created the Verse Nudge app (still in progress) that gives me verse reminders throughout the day.

I read the Bible.

I get exercise throughout the week.

The result?

When I face challenges, they become opportunities to exercise my faith.

Not threats. Opportunities.

Let’s keep it real...

Life is hard!

But you have to fight for what you want.

Because if you don't?

What you don't want will take over.

And there’s no such thing as maintaining.

Either you're moving forward or falling behind.

The Challenge: Renew Your Mind This Week

This week, I want you to take one step toward renewing your mind.

Ask yourself:

  • What am I feeding my mind every day?

  • What negative content or people am I allowing to program my thinking?

  • What one practice can I add to renew my mind daily?

Then commit to one action:

Start a morning devotional routine.

Replace one scroll session with reading something that builds you up.

Add a verse or positive quote reminder to your phone.

Get moving — exercise changes your mental state.

I wish you a happy and prosperous 2026.

Cheers!

💡 TP’s Marketing Lesson

The Top 7 Content Strategies Explained in 14 Minutes

  1. AEO (Answer Engine Optimization): Create content specifically for AI platforms (like ChatGPT and Perplexity) by focusing on sources they index, such as Wikipedia, Reddit, and YouTube.

  2. Message-Driven Content: Move away from rigid marketing funnels. Instead, map out the specific messages your audience needs to hear and ensure every piece of content can stand alone.

  3. Problem Match: Start your content by mirroring the audience's exact pain points and language to prove you understand their struggle before pitching a solution.

  4. The Mega Mean Mouse: Don't just sell a "better mousetrap"; make the problem (the "mouse") feel bigger and scarier by highlighting the long-term consequences of not solving it.

  5. Blank-for-Blank Positioning: Use a simple formula (What you do + Who it is for) to become the specific option for a narrow niche rather than a generic choice for everyone.

  6. Personality-Driven Content: Prioritize being a "real person" over being a "polished brand." Share mistakes, behind-the-scenes stories, and strong opinions to build trust.

  7. Quality Over Frequency: Ignore the pressure to post daily. Focus on high-value content that triggers engagement during the "golden hour" (the first 60 minutes) to satisfy platform algorithms.

Essential AI Skills For 2026

In her latest video, Tina Huang outlines the essential AI skills and trends for 2026, categorized by technical depth and utility. Here is a brief summary of the key takeaways:

  1. Mastering Prompt Engineering The foundation for all AI interactions remains prompting. Tina introduces two core frameworks to maximize output quality:

Tiny Crabs Write Enormous Iguanas: (Task, Context, References, Evaluate, Iterate).

Ramen Saves Tragic Idiots: A secondary framework used when initial prompts fail to yield the desired results.

  1. AI Agents and Custom Solutions The focus is shifting from simple chatbots to AI Agents—systems that can autonomously execute tasks. For businesses, the high-value skill is building custom agentic workflows for specific needs like personalized customer retention or automated financial reporting.

  2. The Rise of Open-Source AI A major trend for 2026 is the surge of open-source models, particularly those coming from China (e.g., DeepSeek and Alibaba’s Qwen). These models offer several advantages over closed-source alternatives:

Cost & Control: They are significantly cheaper at scale and allow for "on-prem" deployment.

Transparency: Essential for regulated industries like healthcare and finance that require auditable systems.

  1. "Vibe Coding" (AI-Assisted Development) The barrier to building software has effectively collapsed. Through "vibe coding," individuals can build functional tools and apps by describing them in plain language. For professional developers, these tools are now essential for 10x productivity.

  2. Emerging Trends to Watch Multimodality: AI-generated audio is now virtually indistinguishable from human speech, and character consistency in AI video (highlighted by models like Nano Banana) is reaching a tipping point.

AI Safety: As these tools become more powerful, the need for safety protocols and responsible implementation will become a critical, though often overlooked, discipline.
