Worry is Dead: Growth is Booming
I find inspiration and intrigue in some of the most peculiar situations.
True story...
It's Sunday, and I finished studying some audio software programming.
I took a break and watched a few episodes of NCIS. (don't judge)
At the same time, I'm wrapping up this newsletter.
Long story short, I was half-way watching the show.
But, in this particular episode, one of the agents was in counseling.
The psychiatrist said this one line that instantly grabbed my attention!
She said, "Worry’s a bully. It gives you nothing. It only takes."
It struck a chord right when I was gearing up for a pivotal step forward.
Brief Backstory…
A company is looking for “Automation Engineering” support and they're literally seven minutes away.
Their recruiter reached out to me and things are moving fast.
Like most opportunities, I’ll research the client and ensure I check all the boxes.
I felt like I checked 95% of the boxes but there were a few items that I need to get up to speed on.
The more I thought about it, the "what if’s" and doubts started creeping in.
That one liner from NCIS was a sobering reminder.
I soon dismissed the negative thoughts with a simple phrase: "I'm not going to worry about it ― my best is sufficient.”
The tension eased immediately.
It gave me a moment to reflect on my planning, preparation and amazing track record.
I challenge you to keep growing and going no matter what.
And remember, Worry’s a bully. It gives you nothing. It only takes.
