Your Unique Brilliance: How Gratitude and Authenticity Will Unlock Success
I recently watched an interview on Terry Crews.
His journey from the NFL to Hollywood Actor
had me on the edge of my seat the entire time.
There was one thing that he said that disrupted my psyche.
Terry said, “competition is the enemy of creativity.”
At first, I was like, competition is a good thing. Right?
But what he was saying, is that we all have our own lane.
Compete with yourself ― to be your creative best.
We all are unique. If we are comparing to others we are not focusing on maximizing our gifts. (gratitude)
Terry mention how he started in Hollywood without the trained actor path.
He stayed true to himself, breaking norms (uptight muscle bound male), and practiced gratitude.
He was happy and thankful for just being in the room with the greats.
I won't spoil the entire interview (you can watch it here) but there is one way that I will apply this concept.
I recently released a virtual software instrument called PLUSH.
I was able to use my 3D design and musician skills to put together a quality product.
It Sounds Absolutely Amazing!
I am in the marketing phase and like many, began to study what the competition is doing.
The old me would be like, my product isn't as mature as other offerings.
This mindset could lead to discouragement, lack of motivation, and quitting.
On the bright side…
There are millions of people that can use my product.
I don't need the whole marketplace, I can serve a small fraction. Win Win!
Get this…
Terry thought his life was over when he quit the NFL.
He traveled abroad and soon realized that the NFL was only big in the United States.
Other countries didn't care so much ― he realized life was BIGGER than the NFL.
Here's the thing...
I am gleaning from their marketing ideas and even product features.
The differentiator is infusing my unique style and creativity.
Remember this...
There is enough for everyone to thrive.
It's all about abundance.
